In the past, the internet was used as a source to research information. You could Google a topic and browse through the websites that came up, reading about that topic.
Web 1.0 was the "Read" Web - people used it to retrieve information
Web 2.0 is the "Read / Write" Web - now people are able to edit, share and collaborate!
This completely changes the Web from just reading about topics to actually taking part in creating the topic.
There are a variety of Web 2.0 Tools out there that you can use with your students.
